The Choral Connection – April 2010

Amid the gloomy weather of the past several weeks, your Elks Chorus has continued to provide music for those who need a little cheering. We were warmly received by 11 churches in Bismarck and Mandan on two successive Sundays, providing special music for their services.

We also entertained the residents of Edgewood Vista with a concert on February 2.

Congratulations to Andrea Frank on her installation as Exalted Ruler for the 2010-2011 Lodge Centennial Year. She has ably demonstrated her leadership skills during the past several years as a lodge officer. We are honored and proud to have taken part in her installation and look forward to a successful year.

The Chorus is already booked for several events in May, June, July, and September. More specific details will be provided in next month’s Newsletter.

Under director Gloria Knoll’s leadership, the Chorus has been doing more than just practicing. You can well imagine the difficulty of trying to teach a group of ”mature” men music theory, but that’s just what she’s been doing – with good result.

In addition, we are adding several new songs to our repertoire, as well as reviving a few former hits.
