Lounge Lingo – September 2010

Our Wednesday Burger Bar in the Teddy Roosevelt Lounge and Grill will run through the end of September on Wednesdays from 6-8:00pm, so take advantage of Burger Night while it lasts.

The Sunday NFL Ticket is back, and if you want to see the games, the Elks Teddy Roosevelt Lounge and Grill is the place to be. Starting Sunday, September 12th, the T.R. Lounge opens at noon on Sundays. 16oz domestic tap beers will be on special for $2.00, and pitchers for only $6.00. We have Direct TV’s Sunday NFL Ticket and Super Fan for High Definition display, bringing you all the hard-hitting action. We have 12 TVs for your viewing pleasure!

No matter which NFL team is your favorite, we’ve got ‘em! The grill is open Sundays from 1-7, cooking up the best HALF-POUND burgers in town, hot wings, chicken quesadillas, and many other favorites. Food and Football!! Get in on the action!

Wild Inspire Sports Parties are back! We will give away a $75 gift card redeemable at Pro Image for an NFL jersey every week!. Come in each Sunday for your chance to win! We’ll pick a feature game and all you have to do is show up before halftime and fill in some information to earn points. Sorry, no points or prizes if you’re not present. Most games start at noon, scheduled game information will be available at the Elks.

The Wild Trivia Tour™ by Wild Inspire is back on Tuesdays starting September 14th. Get that team together and compete for session, weekly and nightly prizes. When the going gets tough the tough get smart! (No, you can’t call the kids for help with the cartoon questions.)

The Elks 1199 west side patio is considered bar service area (no minors allowed). We have a patio bar menu available outside offering appetizers, some sandwiches and burgers. Try the salmon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich. Happy hour specials are from 5-6:30pm Monday–Friday, food service from 5:30-9:00pm Monday-Saturday. We anticipate being open on the patio into September.
Monday, September 13th, an all new season of Monday Night Football begins. Two Half-Pound Elks Burgers with all the fixin’s for $7.00 from 5:30-9pm. And back by popular demand: free food at half-time! Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?!!

Our happy hour specials in both lounges include: $2.00 bottles, 16oz taps, well drinks, and $2.50 martinis & manhattens, and house wines (burgundy, blush, and chablis). Our 1199 Lounge has three plasma TVs for your viewing pleasure.

Tuesday nights are Peanut Bar Night in the TR Lounge with free peanuts in the shell all night. Wednesday’s special is cans of Miller Lite, Budweiser, Bud Light, and Keystone Light for $2.00. Thursday’s pitchers of beer are on special for only $6.00.

It’s the beginning of a new Dart League season. We want your team! Last year the Elks sponsored 11 dart teams. This year we’re hoping to sponsor more. If you play darts and are interested in having the Elks as your home call Steve at 255-1199, we want to be your sponsor. We have openings on Tuesdays and Wednesdays!

A closer look at our wine list will reveal some new additions, we hope you enjoy them. New wines include: Cupcake Sauvignon Blanc, Chateau Ste. Michelle Select Harvest Riesling, Greg Norman Pinot Noir, 181 Lodi Merlot, Sokol Blosser Meditrina, Red Rock Malbec, Christian Moueix Pomerol, Markham Merlot, and Sterling Cabernet Sauvignon. These additions offer a variety of new tastes in various price ranges.
Entertainment this month includes: The Continentals, Friday and Saturday, September 10th & 11th; Brian, Deann, and Julie Flemmer, Saturday, September 18th; Rocky Top on Friday, September 24th; and The Low Down Dirty Dogs in The TR Lounge on Saturday, September 25th.

Blackjack players!! Blackjack opens at 5pm Monday through Saturday. Pinochle players!! Pinochle starts up again this month on September 1st and 15th, so find a partner and get cracking!

The Bismarck-Mandan Elks Lodge #1199 is the largest Elks club in the country for many reasons. One of the most important is that our members provide our Lodge with friends and neighbors as new members, keeping our lodge and club full and growing all the time, year after year. Invite a guest, ask them to join, come out and have some fun, and help your Lodge to grow.

Volunteer for one of our many events. During September we are looking for a few volunteers to help make the German food for Oktoberfest. Cheese buttons and Fleischkuekle and more need to be made ahead of time. Call Steve or Delores at 255-1199.

Coming in October: Oktoberfest!!! Friday, October 22nd, German Food Buffet, served with dessert for only $13.00. We plan on cooking for a large crowd, so bring your family! German food will be ready for you starting at 5:30. German Beer specials and good old fashioned Music by Marv Zander and the Moonlighters, and Rock Creek and the Canardly Playboys for your listening and dancing pleasure.
