Labor Day
ByLabor Day differs in every essential way from the other holidays of the year in any country. A lot of the holidays are more or less connected with conflicts and battles of man’s hunger of greed and power.
Labor Day is devoted to no man, living or dead, to no sect, race or nation. It short version it is the end of summer.
The first Labor Day was celebrated on Tuesday, September 5, 1882, in New York City, in accordance with the plans of the Central Labor Union. In 1884 the day was moved to the 1st Monday of September. On June 28th, 1894, Congress passed an act making the first Monday in September a legal holiday.
To celebrate the many years of hard labor that you have completed, or are in the process of completing, please display your American flag on this holiday, Labor Day.
